The good press for Charleston continues as Forbes Magazine just listed the top 25 places to retire in 2014 and yup, Charleston made it. The business publication noted several attributes that make it an attractive spot to spend the golden years, including its water frontage, warm climate, strong economy, favorable state taxes and low crime. It also said the cost of living is about on par with the national average.

I have a number of clients who have retired and I cannot think of one who has any regrets about choosing Charleston. And why should they? The beaches, the golf, the food, the weather, the list goes on and on. Retirement is still some years away for me but I’m thinking Charleston will be a wonderful spot to spend the golden years . . .
